Important Update: We're making it easier to earn bill credits

We’re making some exciting changes to the Koodo Refer-A-Friend program to make things easier for you.

Starting Wednesday, April 19, 2017, Koodo customers will be able to use the same username and password as their Self Serve profile when sending or checking the status of referrals. This means one less thing to remember!

Here are some FAQ’s that might help answer questions of your own:

The email address I originally registered with for the Koodo Refer-A-Friend program is the SAME email address I use to log in to my Koodo Self Serve account. How does that affect how I log in?
As of April 19, 2017, your profile will be linked to your self-serve account, and you can log in to your Refer-A-Friend profile with your Koodo Self Serve account credentials to make referrals and check your referral history.

The email address I originally registered with for the Koodo Refer-A-Friend program is DIFFERENT from the email address I use to log in to my Koodo Self Serve account. How does that affect how I log in?
We highly recommend that you update your email address in your Koodo Refer-A-Friend program profile to match the same email address as your Koodo Self Serve account by or before April 19, 2017 to ensure your Refer-A-Friend profile and Koodo Self Serve account are correctly synced up. You can do this by:

  1. Visiting https://referafriend.koodomobile.com
  2. Logging in with your email address and password
  3. Clicking on Edit Profile
  4. Clicking (change) beside your email address
  5. Updating your email address in your Koodo Refer-A-Friend profile to match the email address you use to log in to your Koodo Self Serve account.

What If I don’t have a Koodo Self Serve Account?
All customers receive an email to set-up a self-serve profile when they activate their Koodo account. Check the email you provided at the time of activation to follow the link for set-up in this email. If you no longer have this email or if it has expired, shoot us a private message on Facebook and a rep can assist you in setting up your self-serve profile.

FAQ for Customers who want to make referrals

Who can I refer?
You can refer friends or family who are not currently Koodo customers.

Can I refer someone who wants to bring their own phone to Koodo?
Sure! The person you refer can either buy a phone from Koodo or bring their own phone - either way you'll both get bill credits.

How do I make a referral?

How many friends can I refer?
There is no limit to the number of referral offers you can send to your friends. However, you're limited to receiving a maximum of $300 in bill credits per calendar year.

If I add another line to my account, does my annual referral limit double?
Sure does! The referral credit limit of $300 per calendar year is per subscriber, so if you add another line on to your account your limit will become $600. Just make sure that both of your lines are registered for the program using different Koodo Self-Serve accounts each with their own email address and are each sending out referrals.

If I was referred, how do I send a referral?
If you’re now a Koodo customer and you’d like to send a referral, that’s great! In order to connect the profile you created when you received your referral, you’ll need to make sure the email address you used to claim your offer is the same as your Koodo Self Serve account. If your phone number was referred by a phone number under the same account, you’ll need your own Koodo Self Serve account to make referrals. If you don’t have your own self-serve profile with a different address, you’ll need to contact customer service. Just send us a private message on Facebook, and an agent will help look into this with you.

What does my friend need to do to redeem the referral?

  1. Tell your friend they must redeem the offer (by entering their name and email address into the referral system) before they activate their service with Koodo. 
  2. Then your friend buys a phone or SIM card and activates on a postpaid rate plan.
  3. After activation, your friend needs to log back into the referral system and provide their mobile phone number.

Can I refer someone who I add on to my account?
Sure, no problem!

My friend is already a Koodo customer, but I was the one who told them about Koodo. Can I still get a referral credit?
In order to qualify for a referral credit, your friend must be a new Koodo customer who activated after they were sent the referral.

How do I qualify for a referral reward?
You must be a current Koodo Mobile customer with a postpaid account who does not have overdue bills. In order to qualify for rewards, your friend must keep their account active and in good standing for 90 days after activating with Koodo. If service is terminated within 90 days of activating, the value of the bill credit will be charged back to both your account and the account of the person you referred.

How long does it take for the bill credit to be applied to my account?
The referral credits will be applied in 4-8 weeks after the new customer has come back to tell us about their new Koodo phone number.

Will you give out my friend's contact information?
Koodo will not give out your friend's information.  Check out our Privacy Policy.


FAQ for Friends who are referred to Koodo

How do I redeem the referral?
As the person being referred, there are three things you need to do:

  1. Redeem the offer (by entering your name and email address into the referral system) before you activate your service with Koodo. 
  2. Then buy a phone or SIM card and activate on a postpaid rate plan.
  3. After activation, your need to come back to the referral system and provide your new and active Koodo phone number.

In 4-8 weeks, if all terms are met, Koodo will apply the bill credit to your account and to the account of the person who referred you!

How long are referrals valid?
Once you receive your referral, you'll have 30 days to redeem your offer (by entering your name and email address into the referral system). After you've redeemed your offer, you have 30 days to: (1) buy a phone or SIM card and activate on a postpaid rate plan; and (2) log back into the referral system and provide your mobile phone number. You can find the link to enter your phone number in the confirmation email you received after redeeming your offer.

If I was referred by more than one person, can I get more than one credit?
Sorry, you can only accept one referral offer.

What other requirements to do I need to meet to get the reward?
In order to qualify for rewards, you must keep your account active for 90 days after activating with Koodo.  If service is terminated within 90 days of activating, the value of the bill credit will be charged back to both your account and the account of the person who you referred.

 

FAQ for both Customers and Friends

How can I see if I've received my referral credit?
We'll send you an email after the referral credit has been applied to your account, and the credits will show up on your next bill.   You can also check for yourself in Self  Serve - simply follow these steps:

  1. Login to Self Serve. Not registered for Self Serve yet? Here is how to get started.
  2. Go to the Billing section
  3. Your referral credit will be listed on your next bill, once it's produced and posted to your Self Serve account.

Can prepaid, or Wireless Home Phone customers participate in the referral program?
No. You must be a Koodo wireless Postpaid customer to participate and your friend must activate a Koodo Postpaid account.
